RAY’S PRIORITIES
The government’s role in our economy is to get out of the way and let the American people flourish. Ray will fight for policies that provide opportunity for the American people to create good-paying jobs and grow the economy. He opposes policies that drive up inflation, hurt small businesses, and push companies out of California. He opposed any new taxes until we have a real understanding of how taxpayer dollars are spent. Ray will oppose any attempts to increase the federal gas tax and will work to restore the SALT tax and mortgage interest deductions in order to provide immediate tax relief to Californians.
Ami Bera’s out of control spending policies have caused the inflation crisis. Ray will work towards fiscal accountability to manage spending and debt by targeting bloated and unnecessary federal programs. Congress must work to reduce the cost of food, energy, housing, and healthcare.
Californians deserve to feel safe in their own homes and communities. Americans shouldn’t lose sleep because their local police department is understaffed due to liberal policies that defund the police. Businesses shouldn’t worry about being the target of “smash-and-grab” incidents. Families shouldn’t worry about the potential impact of drugs making their way into their household.
Ray supports policies that are tough on crime and fully funds our public safety services - police, fire, and EMS. Ray will fight back against any attempt to prioritize the criminal, instead of the victim.
A nation without borders is not a nation. Ray believes that and in Congress, he will fight to ensure that we are a nation of laws and that all who wish to enter our Country follow those laws. The Biden Administration’s open border policies irreparably harmed our Country’s safety, infrastructure, workforce, and economy. Ray supports a pragmatic approach to future immigration policy - one that both ensures our safety and provides opportunity to those searching for a better life or refuge through the legal process of immigration. Ray will support policies that reduce unlawful immigration at our southern border, deport criminal illegal aliens, and creates awareness of those who arrive legally and illegally and those who overstay their visas.
Americans resoundingly rejected the left’s out-of-touch “woke” agenda. Instead of Democrats realizing their mistake of going too far, they have doubled down in their support of an agenda the American people are tired of.
In Congress, we must continue to fight against an agenda that puts in danger women and girls. We must protect women’s sports and girl’s locker rooms. This is common sense and Americans resoundingly support it.
Ami Bera doesn’t. Ray Riehle does.
In the 6th District, we need more storage of surface water and more storage in ground water. We don’t have a water supply problem, we have a water management problem. Through Ray’s experience on the Water Board, he will find solutions that make our water supply plentiful for the environment, farms, and residential/business use.
Ray will secure federal funding for infrastructure improvements that protect and guarantee affordable water, generates good forest policy that reduces wildfires and landslides, and protects our transportation infrastructure including roads and bridges before it’s too late.
Every child deserves a world-class education that prepares them for success in life. In Congress, Ray will encourage trade schools as much as we encourage college degrees. Without the trades, this great nation will fade away as machines and infrastructure fail. It is hard work that should be encouraged and rewards. Ray will support policies that encourage the completion of trade school programs.
Ray will be leader in protecting parental rights in education. He firmly believes that parents are the first teachers of their children and in almost every case, they know what is best for their child. Ray will fight for a parent’s right to participate in and direct the education of their children, to know what their children are being taught, and to know how well the schools are performing.
A market-driven approach that promotes individual responsibility, with limited government intervention offers the best prospect for driving down the costs and improving the quality of health care in the United States.
In Congress, Ray will support market competition, initiatives like Health Savings Accounts, and cross-state purchasing. This will allow Americans to purchase the plan they want at the cost they want. Ray will support Tort reform which will reduce insurance premiums and lower the costs of medical care. He will also look at alternatives such as Direct Primary Care which allows patients to pay a flat monthly fee for a full range of primary care services.
By embracing these principles of competition, consumer choice, tort reform, and state flexibility, we can create a sustainable and patient-centered healthcare system that will offer more services at a lower price.
Spending is out of control, and only because of President Trump and DOGE is there now a serious effort to reduce wasteful spending and manage the federal budget. Without Congress’ support for significant reform, we will leave our children and grandchildren a $40 Trillion debt. Much of that debt is a result of failed tax and spend policies that drives inflation without restoring the economy. History has shown that tax reduction stimulates economic activity, and economic growth fuels prosperity and tax revenue. In Congress, Ray will fight to make the middle-class tax cuts permanent, simplify the tax code, reduce tax rates, and balance the budget.
